Hollyoaks star Chelsee Healey reveals heartbreak after receiving racist abuse about her daughter

By Katie Fitzpatrick

Hollyoaks actress Chelsee Healey has spoken of her heartbreak after receiving racist abuse about her daughter.

The soap star from Eccles opened up after receiving a vile message online directed at Coco, her daughter with her ex Jack Malloy who turns three next month.

Chelsee, who plays Goldie McQueen in the Channel Four soap Hollyoaks, shared the sickening message on her Twitter and Instagram, explaining that she wanted to speak out following the recent Black Lives Matter protests taking place across the globe in response to the death of George Floyd in America.

“You know what, I get nasty messages all day mostly about me!” the former Strictly Come Dancing runner-up wrote.

“I’m a big girl I can handle that but saying something so disgusting about my beautiful innocent baby upsets me especially when there’s nothing you can do to protect them from people’s vile words.

“I wanted to post up because of the movement that’s happening right now.

“Racism is so real but so is BLM.”

“Oh my actual god! I’m sorry your getting that sort of abuse! But to approach a child there are no words,” said one follower.

Her former Hollyoaks co-star David Kennedy, who played Dirk Savage, urged her to report the message.

Another follower said: “I feel sick to know someone can say something that horrible.”

“Wow I have no words. Shocking and sickening beyond belief,” said another.

This week Chelsee also hit back on social media following some harsh words about her attending an illegal rave last Saturday night.

The actress came under fire for attending a ‘Quarantine Rave’ at Daisy Nook Country Park.

She said in an Instagram post this week that she was sorry after joining 4,000 others at the event in Oldham.

It was one of two lockdown raves in the region which breached rules introduced due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But the 31-year-old clapped back after a Twitter user said they wished the mum-of-one had caught COVID-19 from the rave.

“Imagine thinking you’re better than a literal deadly virus, wish you’d have caught it at that rave tbh babe,” they said.

Sharing their tweet Chelsee replied: “I woulda caught it 2 weeks before at the BLM protest babe x”

She told her 595k fans: “On Saturday I made a silly mistake! I now realise it was stupid and irresponsible and I am truly sorry.”

The Quarantine Rave at Daisy Nook was marred by tragedy. A 20-year-old man died from a suspected drugs overdose as he left the event.

In a second rave at Carrington, also on Saturday night, three young men were stabbed – one suffering serious injuries – and a woman was raped.
