Here’s how you can disconnect contact syncing and remove contact list on Instagram

In case your are struggling with discontinuing your contact list syncing on Instagram, then you have come to the right place for the solution.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Instagram is built with the aim to ease the user’s connectivity and communication.
  • You can connect with people on Instagram by syncing your account with your contact list.
  • In case you want to disconnect the syncing of contact list, then Instagram removes all the previously synced contact info.

Instagram has become one of those few social networking services that we don’t just use for photo or video sharing or posting. The app or the browser is helping us sustain our everyday communication, connectivity and creative needs. Now you must be wondering ‘how does Instagram suffice our creative needs?’

Instagram comes with so many in-built filters and effects for our pictures and videos. We can play along with our posts and stories by adding GIFs, stickers or trending hashtags. And all of this not only helps us get creative but also helps us find new people who share a similar interest like ours. For example, if you follow a particular hashtag on Instagram, you can view every person who has posted a picture with that hashtag and if you want, you can even follow them. These hashtags and stickers could also help stay updated about the activities of your current followers. For example, Instagram recently launched a stay-at-home sticker and then it created a different story for all the people in your following list that used this sticker. You could easily view all the stories as all of them were put together; so you didn’t have to indulge in the task of viewing each profile differently.

There are plenty of ways Instagram connects you with people; you can send them follower requests using mutual followers, you can search for their username and if your Instagram is synced with Facebook, then you can also follow the same people that you have friended on Facebook on Instagram. One another way to stay in touch with your friends and colleagues is by linking your Instagram account with your contact’s list. You can find your friends on Instagram if they have registered their mobile numbers with their Instagram handles. However, there are times when you no more want to keep your contacts synced with your Instagram. In that case, you can discontinue contact syncing and remove your contact list from InstagramHow to disconnect contact syncing and remove contact list on InstagramSTEP 1Visit your profile and tap the three-parallel lined icon on the top right hand cornerSTEP 2Click on Settings > Account > Contact SyncingSTEP 3Click on Connect Contacts and then tap Disconnect

The Obamas will headline YouTube’s graduation ceremony

Igor Bonifacic

It turns out students who are graduating this year will have some options when it comes to their choice of a virtual ceremony. Following Facebook, YouTube announced today it plans to host an online graduation ceremony to honor the class of 2020 as they’re forced to stay home due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Dubbed “Dear Class of 2020,” the event will kick off on June 6th at 3PM ET, with a commencement address delivered by former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. Google CEO Sundar Pichai will also make an appearance, as will musicians like Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys and Kelly Rowland. As you might have guessed from the festival-like lineup, they’ll be musical performances in between speeches. And at the end, K-pop group BTS will host a virtual after-party.

YouTube will air the entire multi-hour event on its Originals channel, as well as its Learn@Home website. The company plans to share the day’s full schedule on May 17th.

It’s not a surprise to see Michelle Obama as one of the event’s commencement speakers. The former First Lady is no stranger to working with YouTube. In March, she was one of the stars of the company’s new Creators for Change series. As with Facebook’s virtual graduation, most students would probably prefer to see their friends in person one last time before the end of the school year. That said, it’s not every day someone like the former of the President of the United States delivers your commencement address.

NBA’S RUDY GOBERT CLAPS BACK AT COVID TROLL ON STREAM … ‘Go To School, P***y’

“Go to school, p***y!”

That’s how Rudy Gobertreacted when a fan trolled him over his coronavirus diagnosis on a Twitch stream Monday … with the NBA player pausing his game to dish out the clap back.

The Utah Jazz star — whose COVID-19 diagnosis in March was ultimately the impetus for the NBA suspending its season — was playing Call of Duty when someone went off in the comments.

The remark has since been removed from Gobert’s chat history … but the person behind the comment claims it said, “Thanks for starting covid in the nba dumbass.”

Gobert — who answers comments periodically during his gaming — stopped his avatar for a few seconds to fire back at user “gbgator” … saying, “Hey, gabo, gato, gator — go to school, p***y!”

Gobert has been very open about his struggles with COVID-19 since testing positive, apologizing for his flippant actions prior to the test … and even saying the virus made him lose his sense of smell.

Gobert also admitted the diagnosis affected his relationship with teammate Donovan Mitchell, who reportedly was upset with the way Rudy acted before testing positive.

But, Gobert — who’s now cleared of the virus — has since said he’s working on burying the hatchet with Mitchell … and is already training hard for whenever the NBA season resumes

Twitter Test Asks Users to Revise Tweets With ‘Harmful’ Language

Sean Burch

Twitter wants you to watch your language while tweeting, with the company on Tuesday saying it had started running a test that notifies users to revise their reply tweets if they contain “harmful” words.

“When things get heated,  you may say things you don’t mean,” Twitter’s support account tweeted. “To let you rethink a reply, we’re running a limited expiriment on iOS with a prompt that gives you the option to revise your reply before it’s published if it uses language that could be harmful.”

When things get heated, you may say things you don’t mean. To let you rethink a reply, we’re running a limited experiment on iOS with a prompt that gives you the option to revise your reply before it’s published if it uses language that could be harmful.

— Twitter Support (@TwitterSupport) May 5, 2020

Reps for Twitter did not immediately respond to how many users may see the new prompt as part of the test; the reps also didn’t immediately respond to what the company considers “harmful.”

Still, Twitter’s hateful conduct rules offer some insight into what the company considers off-limits language.

“We prohibit targeting individuals with repeated slurs, tropes or other content that intends to dehumanize, degrade or reinforce negative or harmful stereotypes about a protected category,” Twitter’s rules outline. “This includes targeted misgendering or deadnaming of transgender individuals.”

Twitter has spent much of the last few years rolling out new rules to police its service. In 2018, Twitter started banishing mean tweets to the “show more replies” section at the bottom of reply threads.

It’s unclear when a potential rollout for the think-before-you-tweet notification would take place, if Twitter brings it to the masses.

Pixar’s YouTube channel shares cooking tutorials inspired by its movies

‘Cooking with Pixar’ could help add some spice to your quarantine meals

Thomas Metevia

Cooking With Pixar -YouTube

If there is one thing Pixar has taught us, it’s that “anyone can cook.”

Now the award-winning animation studio is giving us something to cook, with the help of its new cooking tutorials.

“Cooking With Pixar” is a new series featured on the Pixar YouTube channel.

Each video shows a step-by-step process for making easy recipes that kids of all ages can help out with.

The collection of recipes is inspired by films such as “Toy Story,” “Onward” and the short “Bao.”

The quick videos include fun animation, with our favorite Pixar characters stopping by to help demonstrate the recipes.

So, what are we making?

The latest upload features a birthday cake inspired by Pixar’s latest film, “Onward.”

Elf brothers Ian and Barley help you along your quest to make a cake fit for any wizard.

The brothers mix, bake and frost a vanilla cake that looks way too good to eat — seriously.

Pepperoni pizza

In the mood for something less sweet and more savory? How about pizza?

Who hasn’t wondered what pizza from Pizza Planet would taste like? Well, now’s your chance to test it out. Cook alongside Forkey from “Toy Story 4” as you create a Pizza Planet pepperoni pizza with bell pepper rings. The pie is fit for any toy, big or small.

Dumplings

Families can also recreate Bao, the iconic dumpling featured in Pixar’s Oscar-winning short of the same name. Spoiler alert, there are no measurements listed in the video, however, you can find them written here.

Everything in this video is made from scratch, starting with the dough and ending with the pork filling.

These recipes are a perfect excuse to get the kids in the kitchen and have fun, while also making a great meal.

It’s important to note that Pixar’s cooking videos don’t include ingredient portions or measurements. So, if you aren’t comfortable cooking that way, it might be a good idea to keep a similar recipe handy to compare.

Here’s hoping that we get more Pixar-inspired recipes soon.

Anyone up for some “Ratatouille?”

Mucinex enlivens coronavirus PSA content with Instagram superhero art

Peter Adams

Brief:

  • Cold and flu brand Mucinex launched an Instagram content series that uses superhero art to encourage consumers to continue “boring” behaviors even as stay-at-home orders start to lift in several U.S. states, according to details shared with Mobile Marketer.
  • Working with creative agency partners McCann and McCann Health New York, the brand tapped award-winning artist Noma Bar to illustrate images that apply double entendre and negative space to show how staying home helps keep real frontline heroes, including healthcare workers, grocery store employees, mail carriers and more, safe and healthy during the coronavirus pandemic.
  • Bar will share art for the series throughout May and designed a collection of Instagram stickers that roll out to users this week. Mucinex selected a curated group of social influencers to promote the campaign via Instagram Stories and is running a #boringhero hashtag to raise online awareness for the initiative.

Insight:

Mucinex looks to differentiate its brand during the coronavirus pandemic with a spotlight on clever, dynamic visual art that recognizes the steep risks posed to frontline workers amid a public health crisis. At the same time, its campaign tries to combat the unrest many consumers are feeling as shelter-in-place orders stretch on for months, enforcing how staying cooped up can be its own form of selflessness in preventing the novel coronavirus’ spread.

The effort marks a change-up for the cold and flu relief brand that typically centers its marketing on an animated Mr. Mucus mascot whose ads employ a humorous tone. Mucinex is now adopting a more serious, science-minded approach in the PSA style that still taps into the current superhero pop culture craze driven by the likes of Disney’s Marvel Studios.

“Staying in isn’t exciting, but it saves lives,” reads one of Bar’s illustrations, which shows a superhero in profile whose mask and eyes double as a lounging man. Other mundane activities, such as vacuuming or making a sandwich, are depicted as similarly heroic across the content series.

The Instagram push serves as a form of cause-driven marketing, with Mucinex trying to help prevent a fresh spike in coronavirus cases that could emerge as stay-at-home orders are lifted or relaxed in states like Georgia, Alabama and Texas. Public health experts fear a potential second wave of cases could arrive soon, and recently warned that the U.S. is rolling back safeguards too early. With the weather warming up as well, Mucinex is trying to clamp down on peoples’ natural urge to go outside and resume business as usual.

It’s the latest instance of a marketer stepping up to fill a messaging gap where public institutions have failed to. The demand for such purpose-minded messaging from the corporate sector is only growing, as more than half of surveyed global consumers believe brands are responding more quickly and effectively to the coronavirus pandemic than governments, according to an Edelman study on trust.

However, consumers are also becoming increasingly wary of brands’ coronavirus ads, many of which employ the same “uncertain times” messages, as reported in The Wall Street Journal. Young consumers, particularly in the Gen Z cohort, are more receptive to light-hearted or exciting content during the pandemic, a recent Magid study found. It’s an age demographic Mucinex is likely targeting with the fresh focus on Instagram, influencers and superheroes.

Instagram refuses to display certain publications with this hashtag

In recent days, Russian users of the Instagram social network have noticed something new on the social network. He now refuses to show publications with the hashtag #море in the Russian language.

Russian users of the Instagram social network have noticed that it limited the display of photos published with the hashtag #море in the language of Tolstoy.

Now when a user starts looking for posts with that keyword, a notification is displayed stating that the posts concerned “often support behavior that can cause harm or even death”.

At the same time, the technical service of the social network offers to help users facing difficulties.

The developers have not yet commented on the situation or justified the restriction imposed. However, the ban only applies to the Russian version of the hashtag. Posts marked #sea are displayed without any changes.
