Welsh singer Duffy, who recently re-emerged after a decade away from the spotlight following a harrowing personal experience, has released a new song via her Instagram only.
The “Mercy” singer didn’t reveal the song’s title, but Billboard reports that it’s called “River in the Sky.” Duffy captioned the emotional ballad, “For the better days to come.”
“Like a river in the sky, why oh why do we cry, do we cry?” Duffy sings.
This is the second piece of music Duffy has released since she revealed earlier this year that she’d left music because she’d been drugged, sexually assaulted and held captive by an unknown assailant.
In April, Duffy posted a note she’d sent to British deejay Jo Whiley in which she’d offered Whiley a song called “Something Beautiful” to play on the radio, but she never officially released it.
Duffy’s last album, Endlessly, came out in 2010. Her acclaimed 2008 debut Rockferry won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Singer JoJo wowed in a hot new shot shared to Instagram this week as she slipped into revealing lime green lace lingerie. The “Leave (Get Out)” singer looked every inch the superstar in the new photo as she relaxed and did some “plotting” in a stylish lace number taken from Rihanna’s hugely popular Savage x Fenty underwear line.
JoJo showed off plenty of skin and her flawless figure in the photo, which she shared with her 1.8 million followers on Thursday, June 18. It showed her as she looked out into the distance from behind a pair of small, gold-framed sunglasses.
The talented singer, who dropped her latest album Good To Know last month, had her long hair down. It cascaded over her shoulders and down as far as her waist while she flashed her multiple tattoos, including two large inkings on her left wrist and another on her right hip.
She sat on a wooden bench with her left leg bent and her right stretched out in front of her. Plenty of foliage could be seen behind her as she struck a pose beside a white metal railing.
As for her sultry lingerie look, JoJo sizzled in a bright green lace bodysuit which was unbuttoned all the way down her torso to show off her toned middle and matching bra.
In the caption, the “Too Little Too Late” singer told fans that her sexy ensemble included “highlighter color crotchless panties” which she joked really helped her to get creative.
But while the star may have returned to her usual posts after shining the spotlight on the Black Lives Matter movement over the past few weeks, she noted that she’s still very much dedicated to the cause.
JoJo also urged fans via the caption to continue the fight for justice for Breonna Taylor, who was shot dead earlier this year by police officers who entered her property on a no-knock warrant in Louisville, Kentucky.
The comments section of the upload was flooded with praise for the singer.
“Thirst trapping to a beautiful message, love the way she works,” one person said.
“Beautiful inside and out,” another commented with a heart emoji.
“How do I be as confident in my self as you!? #goals. Also thank you for continuing to fight,” a third comment read.
The photo has received more than 175,000 likes in less than 15 hours.
But JoJo’s latest lingerie snap isn’t the first time she’s showed some serious skin on social media.
The Savage x Fenty brand ambassador previously stunned fans last month when she posed on her knees in sheer black lingerie from Rihanna’s brand as she posed seductively on a bed.

Australian surfing star Blaze Angel Roberts, 18, from Sydney, had her Instagram account hacked at 40,000 followers, by raunchy invaders who sent porn to her fans
A famous Instagram star has had her account taken over by raunchy hackers who flooded her feed with explicit images.
Blaze Angel Roberts, 18, from Sydney, was sent an email by hackers pretending to be Instagram, asking her if she would like to verify her account.
The keen surfer, who has 40,000 followers, clicked on a link and her email account was hijacked, locking her out of her Instagram account, and email address.
She was eventually able to regain access to her email and was horrified to see pornographic images sent to her followers.
Hackers also posted explicit pictures to her Instagram feed, bombarding followers with raunchy pictures.
To get the account back, Blaze had to prove her identity by seeing a photo of herself with a code provided by Instagram.
Blaze was following Instagram’s instructions but had noticed the hackers, a bearded man and a blonde woman, were also doing the same thing.
She believes the hackers are from Turkey as the emails she was receiving were in Turkish.
Blaze told A Current Affair: “I kept messaging Instagram with screenshots and photos to try and send them the proof and they kept saying they didn’t have enough proof and they didn’t know what I was talking about.
She closely monitored her old account for three weeks as she watched hackers change the username and continue to post photos.
Eventually, Blaze created a new account and was able to reclaim her old username, and some of her followers.
The account stands at 5,023 followers, and her new biography states “new account since I was hacked at 40,000 followers.”
Blaze is unsure of what other information the hackers could have access to, she said: “I don’t know if I’ve ever sent my address to a friend, I don’t know if I’ve ever sent my bank details to someone I know.138208672551
“So, the fact that they have access to that information is terrifying.
“Whether you have 100 followers or you have 100,000, this is scary to anyone.
“As an adult this is definitely scary to me, so I couldn’t imagine a child going through this.”

In our new podcast series I’m So Obsessed, Pierce opens up about her new HBO show We’re Here, dealing with homophobia, and working with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in A Star Is Born.
D.J. “Shangela” Pierce competed as a contestant on the popular reality show RuPaul’s Drag Race three times. But in April, Shangela branched out on her own with the new show We’re Here on HBO. It follows her, along with fellow Drag Race queens Eureka O’Hara and Bob the Drag Queen, as they travel across the US to small towns connecting with people who have queer or queer-adjacent stories. During an interview on CNET’s new podcast I’m So Obsessed, Shangela opened up about both the fun she had making We’re Here (spoiler: there’s lots of glitter) and the inspiration she gained from the people she met.
“We come to these cities and not only connect with people, but we have to build confidence in them and put them in drag for the very first time in their lives,” Shangela says. “Sometimes in places where you don’t think there’s support for the LGBTQ community there actually is.”
We’re Here is part reality show, part social experiment, part drag revue. Its six-episode first season wrapped at the beginning of June and is now available to stream on HBO and HBO Max. Earlier this month We’re Here was renewed for a second season.
My interview with Shangela was recorded at the beginning of April. In it we discuss how she got into drag, working with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in the film A Star Is Born, the origin of her catchphrase, “Halleloo!” and what it’s like performing in 184 drag shows as part of the Werq the World tour that features stars from Drag Race.
Listen to my entire conversation with Shangela and subscribe to I’m So Obsessed on your favorite podcast app. In each episode we catch up with an artist, actor or creator to learn about their work, career and current obsession.
