Instagram, Etsy Sale: How FBI Found Woman Accused of Torching Cop Cars

By Rudy Chinchilla

A woman is seen holding a piece of wood as a Philadelphia Police Department car burns in front of Philadelphia City Hall.

A Philadelphia woman has been charged by federal authorities with setting fire to two police cars during protests over the death of George Floyd.

Lore-Elisabeth Blumenthal, 33, faces two counts of felony arson, U.S. Attorney William McSwain’s office said in a news release. She is accused of setting the police cars alight during the first day of protests in Philadelphia, which began peacefully but gave way to mass looting and destruction as the day wore on.

“We at the U.S. Attorney’s Office fully support the First Amendment right of the people to assemble peaceably and to petition their government. But torching a police car has nothing to do with peaceful protest or any legitimate message. It is a violent and despicable act that will be prosecuted in this District to the fullest extent of the law,” McSwain said in a statement.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw also commended peaceful protesters while decrying the actions of people who she said used the opportunity to engage in “malicious, destructive” crimes that could have left people hurt.

A criminal complaint against Blumenthal shows federal agents tracking her down through social media, a t-shirt sale and her tattoos.

Paul Hetznecker, an attorney representing Blumenthal, described the decision to charge his client federally as “political.” “This case should have remained in state court like the other 650 cases charged locally,” he said.

FBI Special Agent Joseph Carpenter said in an affidavit of probable cause that he first saw Blumenthal holding a burning piece of a police barricade and shoving it into a Philadelphia Police Department SUV while watching aerial footage of the protests on the news. A video posted to Vimeo and sent to the FBI by the Department of Homeland Security also allegedly captured the moment.

Carpenter said he saw a picture of the torching posted to Instagram and asked the account-holder to provide more photos, through which he was able to make out a tattoo of a “peace” sign on Blumenthal’s forearm.

An amateur photographer later gave the FBI about 500 photos of the protest, the special agent said, through which they saw Blumenthal without a face covering and wearing a t-shirt that read “Keep the immigrants, deport the racists.”

The FBI then tracked the t-shirt to a seller on Etsy and saw a five-star review of it from someone with a public account who had a Philadelphia location. From the Etsy URL they determined the username as being “alleycatlore.”

After searching for the username online, the FBI found a Poshmaker user with the display name “lore-elisabeth.” They then found a website and a LinkedIn profile for someone with the name “Lore Elisabeth” who worked as a massage therapist. The website for the massage therapy company had videos, about four years old, showing a woman with the same “peace” sign tattoo on her forearm as the woman seen torching police cars.

The website also had a phone number for “Lore Elisabeth,” Carpenter said, which the FBI cross-checked with the Pennsylvania DMV to find a photo of Blumenthal and pinpoint her address.

Authorities followed up by issuing a grand jury subpoena to the Etsy seller. The subpoena showed “Keep the immigrants, deport the racists,” t-shirts shipped to Blumenthal’s address, according to Carpenter. The next day, a PennDOT search turned up a car registered to Blumenthal at the same address, the special agent said.

Blumenthal is currently being held in federal custody. If convicted, she faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.

7 Black Beauty Vloggers Schooling Us On All Things Makeup & Beyond

by Valerie Piro

Okay, so you posted a black square to your Instagram and retweeted a bunch of things in support of destroying white supremacy. Now what? Eventually, the protests will end and we’re going to move onto the next crisis (which appears to be the new normal). So what can you do in the long run to be an ally?

Well, for starters, if you’re as far down the YouTube beauty rabbit hole as we are, you can support Black YouTubers by subscribing to their channels. Watch their content, and you’ll learn whether the brands you’ve been purchasing from are actually making products that work for everyone, and not just for those at the lighter end of the shade spectrum.

You’ll also learn about racism in the beauty industry, dispel some beauty myths (Black women can wear bronzer, pastels, and anything they damn well please), and see some fabulous eyeshadow application techniques. And on top of everything, the women on this list just make fabulous content, so why not support their channels? (Note: This list is by no means exhaustive. See who these YouTubers support, and then go follow them, too! Your subscription feed can never be too long.)

Jackie Aina

Okay, how are you not already subscribed to Jackie Aina? You know how a bunch of beauty YouTubers are now putting out videos that feature black-owned brands? Yeah, Jackie started the BOMB (Black Owned Makeup Brands) challenge in July 2016, and called for non-black YouTubers to take the challenge. Want to learn about racism in the beauty industry and which brands to support as you follow along with a GRWM? Look no further than Jackie-Jackie-Jackie-Jackie, Jackie-Jackie-Jackie.

Alissa Ashley

Makeup? Hair? Nails? Alissa Ashley has got you covered, especially if you have hooded eyes. She has no shortage of videos that teach her two million followers how to achieve her flawless base, with tips that anyone (regardless of confidence in makeup application ability) can follow.

https://youtu.be/DSFrFGMPxR0

Nyma Tang

How inclusive is your favorite brand’s shade range? Nyma Tang will tell you. If a makeup brand doesn’t make a complexion product deep enough for her, then its shade range just isn’t cutting it.

Andrea Renee

There’s a myth that Black women don’t need to wear bronzer, or that bronzer is only for those on the lighter end of the shade spectrum. Let us introduce you to Andrea Renee’s bronzer collection and bust that myth. Sometimes you just want to get ready for the day and chill, and Andrea Renee’s content has got you covered, especially in quarantine (an hour-long eyeshadow collection/declutter video? Um, yes, thank you).

Ti (nappyheadedjojoba)

For those who are looking for a channel that features both makeup and thoughtful commentary/opinion videos, look no further than Ti, or, nappyheadedjojoba. Want to know how to actually help? Questioning the black squares all over Instagram? Annoyed at the “reopen the country” protests that seem like they were so long ago? Ti has a video for you. Oh, and she wants you to know that women of color can rock pastels. Just in case you ever doubted.

Alicia Archer

Alicia (pronounced ah-lee-see-ah) Archer, also known as kinkysweat (“kinky hair and sweat life”), is our go-to for luxury eyeshadow tutorials. Bought a Pat McGrath Labs palette and have no idea what to do with it? Alicia will give you four looks per video, all the while introducing you to the greatest makeup brushes that you never knew you needed in your collection. She recently did a livestream with a representative from Chantecaille to discuss race in the beauty industry, particularly when it comes to luxury brands, and it is absolutely worth a listen.

Kelsee Briana Jai

Kelsee Briana Jai (AKA Kelsee Briana Bae) loves makeup. Sure, everyone on this list loves makeup, but no one else has posted a video comparing seven different concealers over seven days that clocks in at over an hour long (did we watch the whole thing because quarantine has us really interested in concealer weartime? Maybe). She also kicked off a “Brown Girl Beauty Myths BUSTED!” collaboration between seven YouTubers (including the aforementioned nappyheadedjojoba and kinkysweat!).

Machine Gun Kelly Declares That He’s ‘In Love’ With Megan Fox On Instagram

By Lynne Versluys

Megan Fox

One of the celebrity couples to call it quits in the midst of the pandemic is Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green, who have decided to split (again) after a decade of marriage and three children together. While there was speculation about the couple’s state of affairs, Green confirmed the news on an episode of his podcast, saying:ADVERTISEMENT

“Neither one of us did anything to each other. She’s always been honest with me. I’ve always been honest with her. We’ve had an amazing relationship. I will always love her. And I know she will always love me and I know as far as a family what we have built is really cool and really special.”

Going Public

A romantic picnic between Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox

There were rumors that Fox was dating rapper Machine Gun Kelly after appearing opposite him in his music video “Bloody Valentine.” They were seen out and about together, but there was no confirmation that they were more than friends.

However, this week saw a shift in that narrative, as the couple was seen out in public holding hands in Sherman Oaks, California, on Monday. On top of that, Kelly posted an Instagram story of a romantic picnic with the caption “in love.” While Fox’s face isn’t show in the video, it’s pretty clear that she’s the woman who got the roses and bento box. I’d say that it is officially on.

Starting Out As Friends

Fox and Kelly originally started out as friends, which Green confirmed on his podcast. He explained that Fox had informed him of the friendship and they discussed Kelly when the original pictures of the two of them went public.ADVERTISEMENT

“She met this guy, Colson, on set … I’ve never met him. Megan and I have talked about him. They’re just friends at this point. I trust her judgment, she’s always had really good judgment. I don’t want people to think her or he are villains or that I was a victim in any way.”

Backlash To An Ex?

Megan Fox

Megan Fox | Instagram

The timing of this relationship rollout does feel slightly suspect, though, after photos of Green out with reality star Courtney Stodden hit the gossip mill on Monday as well. The 90210 star was seen having lunch with Stoddenwho recently finalized her divorce from The Green Mile actor Doug Hutchison.

Stodden shot to fame (or infamy) after marrying Hutchison when she was only 16 years old and he was 50. A source told TMZ that Green and Stodden were just friends from social media.

Either way, it seems like Fox and Green are both moving on.

How to add a link to your Instagram Story

Alina Bradford

Instagram is very strict when it comes to sharing. You have to be a little creative when it comes to sharing other people’s posts, and sharing links, other than in your bio, isn’t possible. That is, unless, you share links in your Stories. Here’s how to become eligible to share links in your Stories, and then how to do it.

Instagram Story with link
Instagram Story with link

How to become eligible

There is only one way to get the ability to share links. First, you need a business account or creator account, then you need over 10,000 followers. I can’t help you with getting the followers, but switching from a personal account to a business or creator account is simple.

In the app, tap on the menu icon above your following number on your profile page. Then, tap on Settings at the bottom of the menu. From there, tap Account and Switch to a Business Account or Switch to a Creator’s Account. Read the popup on the screen and then tap Switch to. Now you’re ready for linking action.

How to create a link in Stories

how to add a link to Instagram Stories
how to add a link to Instagram Stories

Once you have your requirements met, adding a link to a Story is easy. Start a Story like you normally would, then tap the link icon at the top of the screen. Next, tap the icon and add your link. Finish by tapping the blue checkmark icon or Done, depending on what type of phone you have. Now you can post your Story.

You may notice that on the linking screen, there is an option to allow a business partner to promote. Not everyone will have that option. It basically just a label that is added to a post during a paid partnership scenario and allows your partner to see how well the post is doing and promote it. You don’t really have to worry about this option.

Once your Story is live, a call to action will be added to your post. At the bottom of the screen will be a note that says “Learn More” and an icon that encourages viewers to swipe up. When your viewer swipes up, they are automatically taken to whatever you linked to.

To encourage more swipes, it’s helpful to add an animated “swipe up” GIF sticker to your Story to really drive home that you want people to take action. There are many different types of these stickers, so you’re sure to find one that matches your Story’s aesthetic.

An Instagram model decided to mark her special milestone by posting a series of sexy snaps of herself – and fans are loving it.

Mathilde Tantot recently hit a whopping 7 million followers on her Instagram account.

And the beauty, who is often pictured posing for Fashion Nova, is certainly not a shy one on social media.

In her recent posts, the French and Persian beauty tends to show off a lot of flesh while posing in the tiniest bikinis.

Now to celebrate her big achievement, Mathilde decided to really treat the followers to three jaw-dropping photos of her perky bum.

‘The Voice’ Season 19 Coaches Announced! Nick Jonas Fans FREAK-OUT

SAMANTHA AGATE

The Voice - Season 18

NBC’s The Voice really takes the theme of chairs turning literally. The coaching panel for season 19 of the show was just announced and it may come as a bit of a shock that Nick Jonas is not on it. Instead, fans will see the return of Gwen Stefani as one of the coaches.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CBgVlmElkST/?utm_source=ig_embed

The new panel of coaches was confirmed in an Instagram post on The Voice account.

Gwen Stefani Is Finally Returning To ‘The Voice’

Stefani will be joining Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and boyfriend Blake Shelton when The Voice is slated to return this fall. Jonas was only a coach for one season but it is not ruled out that he will rejoin the coaches again in a later season. As you may know, The Voice has a rotating panel of coaches which has included in the past Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson.

Stefani first made her debut as a coach in Season 7 along with Seasons 9, 12 and 17. Her Las Vegas residency was a contributing factor as to why she left the show after season 17. She was also an advisor to Team Pharell and Team Blake on seasons 8 and 10 of the show. But it seems like Stefani is ready to make her return and take the crown after Shelton’s team took home the win with artist Todd Tilghman last season.

People Are Shocked That Nick Is Not Returning To The Show

While people are freaking out that Stefani is making her return to The Voice, others couldn’t help but wonder what happened to Jonas. “What happened to NICK?????” asked one person in an Instagram comment. Another similarly asked, “WHERE IS NICK JONAS ARE U KIDDING ME!!!!” Literally all of the comments were buzzing about Jonas’ absence from season 19.

https://twitter.com/Cheryl35955478/status/1272970236984094720?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1272970236984094720&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftalentrecap.com%2Fthe-voice-season-19-coaches-announced-nick-jonas-fans-freak-out%2F

People also left comments asking the producers to bring back Jonas because of the chemistry he had with the other coaches. Jonas has yet to speak out about why he will not be returning to the next season of The Voice. Recently he has been posting on social media about the Black Lives Matter movement so maybe more answers will be coming from him at a later date. But again, a return to the show cannot fully be ruled out sometime in the future.

It simply could just be that Jonas was not available during the time that the season is slated to be filmed. With the coronavirus pandemic still looming, many air dates and schedules are up in the air. Meanwhile, the Gwen Stefani fans are ready for her return to the hit show and her iconic looks with her bold red lipstick.

https://twitter.com/gwenfreakgx/status/1272958491460808704?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1272958491460808704&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftalentrecap.com%2Fthe-voice-season-19-coaches-announced-nick-jonas-fans-freak-out%2F

She will be looking for her first win as a coach on the show and die-hard fans absolutely cannot wait.

Are you surprised that Gwen Stefani is returning to The Voice?
