Chrissy Teigen Calls Out ‘Rich’ And Thirsty Friends On Instagram

Written by BET Staff

Chrissy Teigen had time today to speak on exactly what is on her mind!

The celeb is tired of being asked for free merch by her “rich” friends who want her to send them goodies specifically from her Cravings cookware line.

Like many influencers, Teigen took to self-promoting to get the word out about her delicious Cravings by Chrissy Teigen business, according to Refinery29 and has even sent out a few boxes overflowing with products to her celebrity friends.

Apparently some of the Lip Sync Battle host’s friends did not receive a box, and didn’t feel any kind of way about asking Chrissy for one either. In true Chrissy style, she has a special message for the lot of her wealthy friends.

“Please don’t ask for a box,” she said in her Instagram story. “My marketing budget is not infinite but my love for you is. Also, I see some of you asking and you’re literally rich.”

She later cleared up her comments in a follow-up video to further explain to her fans that they will have a chance to win boxes during giveaways and that the comment was not directed towards them.

“That was honestly just meant for my friends that are literally writing, saying, ‘Uh, mine hasn’t gotten here yet? And that’s cause, uh, I didn’t send it to you.” She added, “I’ve got somebody driving around freaking Los Angeles doing this one at a time. What do you want from me? We’re tiny. We’re small, OK?”

Dully noted.

Dua Lipa Sizzles In Multicolored Jeweled String Bikini For Latest Instagram Upload

Fabio Magnocavallo

British singer Dua Lipa took to Instagram to update fans with a couple of new photos of herself.

The “Don’t Start Now” chart-topper sizzled in a multicolored string bikini set with jewels embroidered all over. The bikini top was pink on one side and yellow on the other while the bottoms appeared to be turquoise. Lipa showed off her toned stomach and decolletage and accessorized herself with small earrings. She pulled her blond and brunette hair up and seemed to be going for a natural makeup look.

The 24-year-old posted two images within one upload.

In the first shot, Lipa soaked up the sun while lying down on her front. She protected herself with a black cap and raised one hand to her head. Lipa sported a pouty expression directly at the camera lens. However, one side of her face was slightly covered from the sun beaming on her face from behind.

In the next slide, Lipa was captured lying down on her back. The entertainer took off her cap and pulled the straps from her bikini top down. She held a book titled The Little Life in her hand over her face and looked to her left with her lips slightly parted.

For her caption, Lipa expressed that it was a hot day in London today and that she started reading The Little Life, which she referred to as “brilliant.”

She geotagged her upload with London, United Kingdom, letting fans know where she is currently spending her time.

In the span of one hour, her post racked up more than 1 million likes and over 5,100 comments, proving to be instantly popular with her 45.9 million followers.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CAaxxqIB2I1/?utm_source=ig_embed

“‪#FutureNostalgia‬ @DUALIPA thank you for this album, please know that we appreciate your hard work and that we love you loads,” one user wrote.

“THAT’S MY QUEEN,” another devotee shared passionately in capital letters.

“How can a person be so cuuute?” remarked a third fan.

“YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL BABY,” a fourth admirer commented.

Lipa is no stranger to impressing her loyal social media audience. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, she shared a throwback post from when she attended her first Met Gala last year. Lipa wowed in a low-cut multicolored Versace gown that had a long silk train that fell to the floor. She paired the ensemble with tights and heels that matched the pattern of her outfit. Lipa wrapped a glittery belt around her waist and wore her long brunette hair up. To complete her look, she put on a jeweled multicolored crown-like headpiece.

Kendall Jenner has settled the lawsuit concerning her involvement with the 2017 Fyre Festival.

The model has agreed to pay $90,000 in the settlement over the now-deleted Instagram photo she posted in January 2017 to promote the failed music festival, according to court documents filed Tuesday.

Jenner was sued in August 2019 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York by Gregory Messer, who is recovering money for creditors that lost money investing in the festival. Other celebrities involved in the Fyre Festival, including model Emily Ratajkowski and musicians Migos, Pusha T and Lil Yachty were also sued.

Court documents state that Jenner was paid $275,000 for the Instagram post and that the post did not specify that she was being paid to promote the festival. The court documents also state that Jenner suggested in the post’s caption that her brother-in-law, Kanye West, would be performing at the festival.

The Fyre Festival has resulted in several lawsuits since the music event failed to come to fruition. The festival spawned Hulu and Netflix documentaries detailing how the Bahamas-based music event lured guests on false claims of celebrity attendees and luxury accommodations, but later presented guests with FEMA disaster relief tents, food shortages and no musical acts.

The festival’s founder, Billy McFarland, initially raised $26 million for the festival, using most of the funds to pay musical acts that didn’t show up and launch the social media campaign that Jenner participated in. McFarland pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges in March 2018 and was sentenced to six years in prison. He’s also been ordered to pay restitution of the $26 million he raised.

This Is How Much Kylie Jenner Is Causing Nike SB Dunks to Surge on the Resale Marke

By Ella Chochrek

Kylie Jenner appears to have sway in the sneaker space.

According to StockX, Jenner has posted four images to Instagram this year of herself wearing various pairs of Nike SB Dunks. Each time the mega-influencer has worn Dunks, prices have climbed by 30% to 50%, the sneaker resale platform says, while sales volume has at least doubled and, in some cases, even quadrupled.

Last weekend, Jenner posed on Instagram in the Nike Dunk SB High “Ferris Bueller,” a rare silhouette that initially debuted in 2008. The kicks had been reselling for about $700, but the price per pair rose to around $1,100 in the 48 hours after Jenner’s Instagram, a nearly 50% increase. What’s more, there were six pairs sold within 48 hours of the post — more sales than in the previous two months combined.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CARBL_IHmyy/?utm_source=ig_embed

Jenner has caused similar spikes in sales for several other SB Dunk models this year, including the Low “Stussy Cherry,” the “MF Doom” and the “What the Dunk.” While Jenner’s influence — she has 176 million followers on Instagram alone — is undoubtable, StockX notes that demand for SB Dunks has been growing overall over the past six months, with sales volume doubling and prices rising by about 50%. However, the re-commerce site believes the “speed and magnitude” of the heightened demand for pairs worn by Jenner is attributable to “her power as an influencer and market mover.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/B-S1rJBneeM/?utm_source=ig_embed

According to Hopper HQ’s 2019 Instagram Rich List, Jenner can make more than $1.2 million per Instagram post — the most of any celebrity. In the sneaker space, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star previously had a deal with Adidas, which is believed to have expired at the end of 2019. Prior to that, she had a contract with Puma. Jenner primarily promotes products on Instagram from her own Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin brands.

Ruby Rose leaves Batwoman

By Neil Smith

The Australian actress Ruby Rose is to leave her role as comic book superhero Batwoman after just one series.

Rose said it had been a “very difficult decision” not to return to the show, which is shown in the UK on E4.

Batwoman, which began on the CW network last year, is the first superhero show to have an openly gay lead character.

Its producers said they were “firmly committed” to the show’s “long-term” future and would re-cast the role with another member of the LGBTQ community.

Rose, who is openly gay, said she was “truly grateful… to everyone who made season one a success”.

The 34-year-old said she had “the utmost respect” for everyone involved and that the decision to leave had not been “made lightly”.

Rose faced a backlash on social media when she was cast as Batwoman, with some saying the role should have gone to a lesbian actress.

The actress, who has called herself “gender-fluid” in interviews, later deleted her Twitter profile, though she remains active on Instagram.

Last year Rose revealed she had suffered an injury while filming the series that had required her to undergo emergency surgery.

The actress said she had “herniated two discs doing stunts” – but Deadline reported the injury was not the reason for her departure.

Born in Melbourne in 1986, Rose played Stella Carlin in Orange is the New Black and has appeared in such films as Pitch Perfect 3 and The Meg.

Yet she is far from the first actor to leave or be replaced in a major film or TV show.

Lilly Wachowski Slams Elon Musk and Ivanka Trump on Twitter

ANGELA WATERCUTTER

HELLO, AND WELCOME to a fresh edition of The Monitor, WIRED’s entertainment news roundup. We’ve got a few crazy ones in the lineup today, including an online reading of James and the Giant Peach lead by director Taika Waititi and a Twitter spat between Elon Musk, Ivanka Trump, and Matrix co-creator Lilly Wachowski. Let’s dive in.Lilly Wachowski Slams Elon Musk and Ivanka Trump for Matrix Reference

Where to begin? OK, so, yesterday Tesla CEO Elon Musk—who has had a busy couple weeks of reopening car factories and becoming a father—sent a tweet: “Take the red pill,” it read, and included a rose emoji. Taking the red pill, for those who don’t know, is a reference to the film The Matrix, wherein taking the red pill means opening up one’s mind and escaping the simulated world known as the Matrix. In more recent years, “red-pilling,” has become, as WIRED’s Emma Grey Ellis notes, an internet “shorthand for having your eyes opened to a certain kind of ‘conservatism’” that’s generally nationalist and often tinged with racism and/or sexism.

Shortly after Musk sent the tweet, Ivanka Trump—President Trump’s daughter and advisor—retweeted it and added “Taken!” About an hour after Ivanka Trump sent that tweet, Matrix co-creator Lilly Wachowski replied with a simple: “Fuck both of you.” She followed that with a message asking folks to donate to Brave Space Alliance, an organization supporting black and trans LGBTQIA people on the south side of Chicago. See the exchange below.

Why Is Brian Austin Green Posting About Butterflies on Instagram?

By Justin Curto

We’re all bored right now. It’s a fact. And for some people, that boredom manifests on social media. Like Beverly Hills, 90210 star Brian Austin Green, for example, who recently posted a pretty photo of butterflies to his Instagram. “Eventually butterflies get bored sitting on a flower for too long,” he wrote in the caption. “They start feeling smothered. It’s a great big world and they want to experience it.” And isn’t that how we’re all feeling after staying inside our homes for two months? Maybe this is about something more specific, though.

You see, Megan FoxGreen’s wife since 2010, was recently spotted spending some quarantine time with her Midnight in the Switchgrass co-star Machine Gun Kelly on May 15. Not only was Green nowhere in sight, the couple have both been spotted not wearing their wedding rings over the past few weeks, People and TMZ report. In mid-April, the Daily Mail wondered if Fox and Green were quarantining separately after watching the couple exchange their three sons: 7-year-old Noah, 6-year-old Bodhi, and 3-year-old Journey. Fox had previously tried to divorce Green in 2015, but the couple later called off the split the following year and welcomed their third son to the family shortly after. Fox even requested that the divorce case be dismissed in April 2019.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CARLhsaHwKD/?utm_source=ig_embed

So who’s the butterfly in this whole thing? Sure, maybe it’s Fox, choosing to spend quarantine (or at least some of it) with her hot, cool co-star. Or maybe it’s Green himself, relishing as much newfound freedom as a possibly newly single 46-year-old can have in the middle of a pandemic. Or maybe it’s Colson Baker, a.k.a. Machine Gun Kelly, a.k.a. the Other Man, who Green hopes will eventually get bored of Fox and find some new co-star to pick up to-go coffees with. Or, you know, maybe Brian Austin Green’s just had a lot of time on his hands to watch Animal Planet lately.

Twitter Calls for Action Against Twitch Moderator

BY SAMIR SATAM

Following the establishment of the Safety Advisory Council, comments made by FerociouslySteph has caused an uproar in the Twitch community. Earlier the streamer called for the removal of voice-chat, calling it unfair. Her follow-up comments on the backlash for that, ironically, caused a further uproar. The saga continued today as she made further comments today that led many users on twitter calling Twitch to take action against her.

Popular WoW Twitch streamer, Asmongold, had called her out following the comments on voice-chat and “cis-white men.”

“It’s ridiculous and at the same time this person can say negative things about white people and it’s fine, If I said that about black people or trans people I would be banned.”

Twitter calls on twitch to take action

In her bid to silence those who were attacking her online, FerociouslySteph said something that brought on more hate. While her thoughts may not have been wrong, her choice of words sparked some serious anger. Popular YouTuber and streamer, Daniel “Keemstar” Keem tweeted out the clip that quickly garnered a ton of attention.

in the clip from her broadcast, the newly appointed moderator for Twitch warns certain people. Check out the clip for yourself.

https://twitter.com/KEEMSTAR/status/1262202724805939201?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1262202724805939201%7Ctwgr%5E&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.essentiallysports.com%2Ftwitter-calls-for-action-against-twitch-moderator-esports-keemstar-100t-froste-ferociouslysteph-news%2F

Gauging from the reaction, the use of phrases like “I have power” and “some people should be afraid of me” has rubbed many the wrong way. While many commented with just personal attacks on her, some were eager to point out the actual issues.

https://twitter.com/KuRtRuSSeLL44/status/1262290420421193729?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1262290420421193729%7Ctwgr%5E&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.essentiallysports.com%2Ftwitter-calls-for-action-against-twitch-moderator-esports-keemstar-100t-froste-ferociouslysteph-news%2F

100T content creator, Froste too posted a clip of the same. According to Froste, the FerociouslySTeph has a God complex and hence, should not really be in a position of power. The debate on 100T Froste’s twitter feed was much more constructive.

https://twitter.com/Froste/status/1262205838170652673?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1262207429628112905%7Ctwgr%5E&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.essentiallysports.com%2Ftwitter-calls-for-action-against-twitch-moderator-esports-keemstar-100t-froste-ferociouslysteph-news%2F
https://twitter.com/Froste/status/1262207429628112905?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1262208164302217218%7Ctwgr%5E&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.essentiallysports.com%2Ftwitter-calls-for-action-against-twitch-moderator-esports-keemstar-100t-froste-ferociouslysteph-news%2F

There is little doubt the new moderator for Twitch has upset many users for her opinion on voice-chat. Unfortunately, many of them attacked her on a personal level, causing her to lash out as well. And the whole episode has taken a complicated turn now. While her indignation is understandable, her choice of words not so much.

An unfortunate chain of events if you think about it.

Let’s wait and watch what Twitch decides to do about the whole mess or if they’re happy to let it be.

Where do you stand on the issue? Who do you believe is in the right here?
